A Belgian-founded La Vilella Alta estate
Bodegas Mas Alta was founded in La Vilella Alta in 1999 by the Lambrecht and Vanhoutte families, with technical advice from French winemaker Michel Tardieu. The first wines followed from the 2004 harvest.
The producer states that all vineyard parcels lie within La Vilella Alta. Its official winery, current contact address and visitor entrance are also in the municipality.

The producer distinguishes slate and quartzite, limestone and sandstone parcels within La Vilella Alta, at roughly 300 to 550 metres and across different exposures. Those are estate-level claims, not a single geology assigned to the whole village.
Mas Alta states that its entire vineyard has been officially registered with CCPAE since 2009. Visits are published Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00, with reservation requested.
