Producer identity

A village cooperative working with grapes and olives

Celler Masroig was founded in 1917 and remains the clearest public expression of the village's cooperative agricultural history.

The cooperative works with wine and extra virgin olive oil. Its current account places Carinyena at the centre of the wine identity while retaining Garnatxa and other varieties across the wider range.

Current wine evidence

Carinyena and Garnatxa across several ranges

Les Sorts

A leading red in the current range, built around old-vine Carinyena with Garnatxa and aged in French oak.

Solà Fred and Pinyeres

Two established DO Montsant ranges carrying the cooperative's everyday expression of Carinyena and Garnatxa.

Current range

The producer also lists L'Om and Ferest wines. Releases and exact blends should be read by vintage.

Place relationship

The public face of El Masroig's cooperative inheritance

The winery and visitor entrance are on Passeig de l'Arbre in El Masroig. The old underground vats and later barrel hall make the production history legible within one working site.

Red clay is prominent in the cooperative's public account, but soil descriptions attached to individual vineyards remain site-specific.
