A nineteenth-century commercial cellar beside a much older monastic history
Cellers Scala Dei traces its commercial cellar to the nineteenth-century families who acquired former Charterhouse lands and became early Priorat bottlers. Its facilities occupy seventeenth-century rooms associated with the Carthusian estate.
The twelfth-century monastic vineyard history is part of the place record, not an uninterrupted corporate history for the present winery. The current producer subject is Cellers Scala Dei at Rambla Cartoixa in Escaladei.

Garnatxa, named sites and long ageing traditions
Prior and Cartoixa
Two established red identities in the current range. Their blends and maturation remain specific to each vintage and technical record.
Masdeu and Sant Antoni
Named high-site Garnatxa wines. The producer links them with distinct clay-calcareous and clay vineyard accounts rather than using one soil description for Escaladei as a whole.
Massipa
A Garnatxa Blanca wine presented as a revival of the historic Blanc de Scala Dei identity from a high vineyard.
Vi Ranci
A current fortified oxidative wine based on a static solera begun in 1982. That date belongs to this wine's ageing record, not to the foundation of the cellar.

Escaladei is a settlement within La Morera de Montsant municipality. The producer's official town field and public identity use Escaladei, so the profile keeps the settlement visible rather than replacing it with the municipal name.
