DOQ Priorat · Gratallops
Clos Alkio
A newer Gratallops producer whose first commercial vintage was 2020, now operating from a renovated historic cellar on Carrer Saperas.

Producer identity
A modern producer in an old cellar
Clos Alkio records 2020 as its first commercial vintage and bought the building at Carrer Saperas, 7 that October. Renovation was completed in summer 2022, after which the winery became fully licensed by DOQ Priorat.
The producer's public history calls the cellar fourteenth-century in one passage and says it is believed to date to the eleventh century in another. The building is therefore described as historic without choosing between those dates.
Current wine evidence
Single-variety Priorat expressions
Single-variety wines
The producer presents individual grape varieties separately to show their Priorat expression. Each grape claim belongs to its named bottle.
Garnatxa and Carinyena
Old local varieties form part of the vineyard and wine record alongside introduced grapes. No one variety defines the entire portfolio.
2020 first commercial vintage
This dates Clos Alkio's public wine release, not the origin of winemaking in the cellar building.
Place relationship
Carrer Saperas and the surrounding vineyards
The renovated cellar retains two large stone vats associated with earlier grape treading. Modern equipment added from 2022 supports the present producer rather than proving corporate continuity with historic occupants.
The winery now offers guided cellar visits with tasting and views towards the Priorat mountains. Booking is available through the producer.
