A Porrera family cellar whose current vineyard project began in 1978 and whose winemaking in Plaça Catalunya began the following year.
Producer identity
Three historical dates kept in their proper roles
Pere Sangenís and Conxita Vaqué began planting vineyards in Porrera in 1978 and making wine at the Plaça Catalunya cellar in 1979. The maternal Monlleó family held the land before 1700, while Josep Simó made and traded wine in the building from 1886.
Those earlier dates establish land and cellar continuity, not an uninterrupted modern company founded before 1700. Maria Sangenís and Roger Simó currently lead the family project.

Clos Monlleó, Coranya and Vall Por
Clos Monlleó
A limited red named for the maternal family line, with documented releases using equal parts old-vine Carinyena and Garnatxa.
Coranya
A vineyard wine from the parcel planted by Pere and Conxita in 1978. The published release uses equal parts Carinyena and Garnatxa.
Vall Por
A red named for an old form of Porrera's name. The current producer record gives 60% Carinyena and 40% Garnatxa.

Family vineyards and the old Josep Simó cellar
The current range also includes Clos Monlleó Selecció Carinyena, Dara, Lo Bancal de Granatxa, Lo Coster Blanc, Garbinada, Lo Coster Carinyena and Simfonia en Dolç. These are wines, not additional producer subjects.
The producer publishes a two-hour visit for groups of two to fifteen, with a five-wine tasting either at the cellar or at La Cometa vineyard.
