Clos Mogador

The Barbier family's Gratallops estate, begun with land acquired in 1978 and central to Priorat's modern revival, with Clos Mogador, Manyetes and Nelin in one producer portfolio.

Producer identity

One estate with several related projects

The Barbier family bought land at Gratallops in 1978, establishing the estate that became Clos Mogador. The winery later played a central role in the small collaborative group behind Priorat's modern revival.

Com Tu at La Figuera and Espectacle Vins are separate public producer or project identities associated with the wider Barbier record. Neither becomes a second Clos Mogador municipal entry, and their wines remain under their stated producers and appellations.

Current wine evidence

Clos Mogador, Manyetes and Nelin

Clos Mogador

The leading estate red and a Vi de Finca Qualificada. The classification belongs to this named wine and vineyard rather than the whole Barbier portfolio.

Manyetes

A Carinyena-led Gratallops Vi de Vila from its named vineyard relationship. Its small production and technical figures remain vintage-specific.

Nelin

The estate white, kept distinct from the red wines in composition and site record.

Gratallops Vi de Vila Rosat

A separate village-designated rosé in the current tasting. Its colour and classification do not describe the full range.

The current visit uses the producer's vehicle route through its estates, followed by the winery and five wines including one DO Montsant wine. Tasting that wine at Clos Mogador does not make it DOQ Priorat.

Visits run on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays for no more than eight people. The estate requires advance booking.
