Producer identity
A home, winery and working farm
Sara Pérez and René Barbier began Venus La Universal in 1999. DO Montsant describes two foundations for the project: its own vineyard and farm at Falset, and relationships with local growers grouped under the name Família Venus.
The current producer site treats the winery as both home and workplace, with a cellar, visit room, garden and animals forming part of its account of small-scale agroecology. Those elements belong to this estate record and are not general features of Falset wineries.

Dido and Venus carry different site records
Dido
The producer ties Dido to sauló, decomposed-granite plots in Falset, and records ageing in clay vessels for the 2022 release. The claim remains wine and vintage-specific.
Dido Blanc
A separate white in the current range. Its grapes and proportions should be read from the relevant vintage sheet rather than borrowed from the red.
Venus
The principal Venus red identity, made within DO Montsant and distinct from the Dido range.
Venus de la Figuera
A named La Figuera wine relationship inside the same producer portfolio. It does not create a second Venus winery in that municipality.
Place relationship
Falset production reaches towards La Figuera
DO Montsant gives Carretera de Porrera, s/n in Falset as the winery address. The producer's bookable experience is attached to that working home rather than to a town-centre tasting room.
Sara Pérez also belongs to the Mas Martinet family and René Barbier to the wider Clos Mogador organisation. Venus La Universal remains a separate public producer identity with its own Falset record.
