Wine geography

A working 1919 cellar and a broad producer set

The March 2025 DO Montsant register lists seven Cornudella identities. Current evidence also supports Cellers Baronia del Montsant and Mas de Sant Marcell as active public producers.

Garnatxa and Carinyena lead the red-wine record while Macabeu and Garnatxa Blanca recur in the white wines.

Place record

Martinell architecture beneath Montsant

Cèsar Martinell designed the cooperative winery, completed in 1919 and still used for wine and olive-oil production. Its brickwork and parabolic arches place it among Catalonia's cooperative wine cathedrals.

Santa Maria is a Renaissance church in the centre. Sant Joan del Codolar stands below the Montsant cliffs outside the village.

Planning the visit

Three settlements require three arrival plans

Cornudella has no railway station. Roads connect it with Poboleda, Porrera, La Morera de Montsant and Ulldemolins.

Siurana is reached by a separate climbing road with regulated parking. Winery facilities are spread between village streets and rural estates, so confirm the meeting point.
