Wine village

Sixteen current names and five further wine relationships

Thirteen producers appear in the live DOQ Priorat village list. Current municipal and production records add Celler Mas d'en Just, Sandra Doix Celler and Perinet. Celler Pahí remains in the research record while current producer activity is reconfirmed. Five further producers presented Poboleda wines at the April 2025 event while retaining their principal municipal identities elsewhere.

This is a municipal relationship list, not a list of tasting rooms. Visits and direct sales must be confirmed with each producer.

The baroque façade and bell towers of Sant Pere in Poboleda

Sant Pere

The cathedral of Priorat

Construction began in 1750 and the municipality says the church was completed within three years. Its scale and two bell towers explain the local name, the cathedral of Priorat.

The baroque interior retains mural painting. Opening arrangements vary, so access should be checked locally rather than assumed.

Populeta and Scala Dei

Carthusian traces and a cooperative path of its own

A Carthusian community was established at Populeta around 1171 before moving to Scala Dei in 1203. Poboleda then remained an agricultural property tied to the monastery and a seventeenth-century record names the Granja de Albes.

Poboleda's Casa dels Frares, now the town hall, and the eighteenth-century Molí dels Frares preserve that connection in the village landscape. This is a separate building from the Casa dels Frares on Carrer Major in Gratallops. The mill beside the Siurana served the monastery's wool activity.

The DOQ Priorat production facility now associated with Cellers Unió was established in Poboleda in 1954. Unió records cooperative relationships with Poboleda, Gratallops and Porrera. Poboleda's route into the group is distinct from the Vinícola del Priorat structure shared by Gratallops, El Lloar, La Vilella Alta and La Vilella Baixa.

Large eighteenth and nineteenth-century stone houses, a surviving wall and portal and Font d'en Mingot extend the walk beyond the church. The spring area remains a simple place to pause outside the centre.

Planning a visit

Two wine dates and no railway station

Poboleda Vins is held around Easter. The Festa del Vi i la Verema a l'Antiga takes place in September and was restored in 1999, bringing traditional harvest work, grape treading and tasting into the streets. Dates and participants change, so check the current programme before travelling.

Poboleda has no passenger railway station. Regional bus services are limited and a car remains practical for estate visits. Confirm winery appointments and exact meeting points in advance.
